Thark Army Big Guns
« on: 08 March 2012, 03:31:53 AM »
Have collected near 200 4 armed Shyft Fiends from Mageknight to make my Thark army with when I was reminded that radium bullets don't work well against assorted types of armored vehicles..... so, clunky wheels for captured pieces of red martian weaponry:

Never ceases to amaze me where old Mage Knight bits will turn up.

Mage Knight has been a Godsend for VSF gamers.

Wow this is very exciting.  That cannon certainly loks the part.  What's the source model?

The gun is the body of a Mageknight Soaring Gunner (or similar) turned 180 degrees and without wings or legs.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know who still intends to use his Mage Knight collection for it's original purpose.

Although I've slowly been replacing the worst plastic figures with various nice metal and resin ones from various manufacturers. Rather than toss old steam horses in the bits bin, maybe I ought to list them for offer here!

Yes Fram, you should list them in the Bazaar.  Where in Canuckistan are you?  I escaped Sudbury Ontario.

Hold your horses gents! I haven't got around to that particular conversion yet! And also, it turns out they are steam rams, mostly like this: http://trollandtoad.com/p100103.html

And the soaring gunners not only useful, (well, the three-star tough ones anyway), but flavourful so I can't say as those will ever be up for conversion. That's one instance I'm fine with the original sculpt. Mage Knight's "Atleantean" figures really do seem to fit well with John Carter Red Martians though, I must say.

Also, I am right in Toronto.

Number?

I have some serious units that could use reinforcements.

Edit:  Rams too.
