Polish military colours, standarts and flags 1918-1921

Are there any Polish - or other - members of this forum, who can help with informations on that subject?
Many or most units seem to have carried un-official colours, colours which were made by the local societies, towns, private persons and such and then presented to the first passing unit.
When the colours got regulated in 1919 and new colours were presented to the units, the old ones should be deposited in the new Army Museum in Warsaw. Rather few regiments got their new colours until after 1920.
There does not seem to exist any books or articles on the subject, the only source seems to be old photos, regimental stories and the like.
Any suggestions to solve the problem?
