Wow - nice work Pil - really like the wizardy symbols on the Phantom Lord's robe and that's another cracking banner.

Beautiful looking pirates Artshiraz - tricky one.  :)

Greetings

Pil, is that banner on the right side a free-hand? Just amazing. And I love the musician on the left side too. Skulls as drums.
Have a nice round.

Thanks Thantsants

Have a nice day all

Thanks all! Artshiraz, I really like your pirates, they are a very colourful and characterful bunch!

The banner is indeed a freehand. The figure originally comes with a (more) torn banner with no room for a nice design so I added a bit of banner from foil to make room for half a design. The phantom lord stood model for the banner design and the text above reads "pulvis et umbra sumus" (we are dust and shadow).

Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Tough to call, both have nice settings and are well matched in painting.

Love the painting and night time effect while keeping the minis clear on Pil's, and the motley crew in Jo's as they explore an exotic locale.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
