Maybe he just fancied having eyes for a while so shape-changed them? Or perhaps he had lost his keys or something, and thought they might be useful for finding them?

Definitely better without the eyes, but as they can change their form I guess you can't say they are wrong. I suppose the little cockroach fellow is one of the slave-races mentioned earlier.

The artist that drew Baby's First Mythos sent my wife this pic as a thank you for doing a review of it.  It shows the Great Cthulhu feeding all his Star Spawn so I guess here is another vision of a young Star Spawn.
