One always comes home with something, or: what a SAGA demo can lead to.

After finishing my Ramshackle GNU GMC (T), I was still left with the base of the pencil sharpener I used for the gun:

I put it in my bit box.  It would probably come in handy later on.  Little did I know it would remain there just 2 days!

Yesterday we presented a demo/participation-game (classic SAGA) during an open door weekend at the WWI fortress of Bornem (Antwerp area):

Pretty safe environment for a wargamer's wallet...  It was a great day: we had candidates for participating the whole day long, including some people who really proved SAGA is a system that can be grapped instantly, even by young newcomers such as this 12 year old, who played - together with his twin brother and a friend - a complete game near the end of the happening.  They were very careful with the figures, helped us pack the stuff, thanked us for the game and shook hands with us before leaving.  Who says kids can't be polite any more these days?

As I said: the open day was a safe environment for the wallet, but, nevertheless, there was a small general flea market and I did buy a few bicycle reflectors and a beaten up diecast "Majorette" compressor.  Combined with the pencil sharpener's base, this came out as a solar power unit (cost: 0.7 Euros).  It doesn't always have to be an expensive hobby, right?:
