A Walk in the Sun - Force on Force AAR
« on: 27 September 2012, 07:11:49 PM »
I finally got to play my first game of Force on Force. I ran a scenario called "A Walk in the Sun" from Skirmish Campaigns "Screaming Eagles at Hamburger Hill" book. The 8" Line of Sight caused by the Dense Forest that covered the whole table was a bit to get our heads around, but much fun was had and we'll definitely be playing again. SOON!

A complete report of the action can be found on my blog:

A Walk in the Sun

Here's a few pictures of the ensuing chaos:

Men of the 2nd squad, 2nd Platoon, B Company, 3/187 Airborne, 101st Airborne Division on a little stroll through the A Shau Valley - completely oblivious to the PAVN soldiers lurking nearby.

FOOOSH! Ba-DOOM!! Rat-at-tat-tat! All hell breaks loose! Two GIs are down - but the remaining member of the fireteam takes out BOTH of the ambushing PAVN RPG team!?

The Airborne apparently don't mess around - the medic got the two downed GIs back up and hobbling along - the PAVNs position was overrun, prisoners taken, next position neutralized...

Over on the other flank things were going equally badly for the PAVN..

Green are the US firepower dice, yellow are the PAVN defence dice... you want to roll HIGH in this game... This one volley of fire pretty much ended the game!

Good fun was had by all and we will be playing again soon!

All the way! AIRBORNE!!!! :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
