It's not going to be finished in time but que sera, sera. I have learned or rather re-learned a number of things along the way.

1) Make sure you have all the bits you need before embarking on a project, especially one with a fixed dealine. No bloody use saying 'oh damn I forgot to get X or Y' when up against the clock.

2) Painting or rather varnishing large surfaces outside is fraught with peril. Insects, pollen, fluff, all the various bits of flying detritous you'd rather not land on the surface invariably will. No time to sand and revarnish, it's been 40 degrees + here this week and today I can't be bothered, I'm taking the kids to the beach.

3) Good idea to plan and measure in advance. One roof down one to go  :'(

4) Balsa really soaks up wood stain. That bracing you applied to the underside? Well it didn't quite do the job did it, hence the warping.

Anyway it's been fun and it won't be wasted, it may just get recycled.

Damn Carlos, please don't ash can this project!  It looks great so far and would be a fantastic location for a Pulp game. I understand the heat thing though.  Have fun at the beach and don't forget some cold ones!

I third that :)

Would be a great shame not to finish it - gameable yet detailed.  (Looks over shoulder at pile if own half finished projects.....)

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

If I do not hear strong opposition I will allow a certain amount of extension to the deadline, where people are close to finishing their entries.

I will obviously agree since my resin won't bloody dry, but I would also love to see Carlos and others finish their entries and be able to submit.

Since I was able to finish on time, I say no just to be an arse (and prepare myself for a career in administration work in the public sector). But, like Elk, I'd love to see all the other work finish :)

No need on my account and it would be unfair on those who met the deadline. I did a little more today. It's been painted, repainted, roof built but yet to be painted.  Water tank painted and mounted.  Made a sattelite dish for the TV too.  Internal fittings finished. Spent too much time faffing around with the interior detail, the things more of a dolls house than a gaming item. Isabella, my three year old has been eyeing it off, she thinks it would be suitable digs for Hey Kitty.

Internal bits, all sctachbuilt now include a refrigerator, wardrobe, shower, toilet, bed, wardrobe, couch and naturally.... a kitchen sink.

Anyway, when I said recycled I didn't mean binned. 'Twas always intended to have a life beyond this comp.

Will post more pics on this thread unless Hammers or one of the other mods decides to relocate.

Tell us about that "Muddy River"! Is that your game board for brown navy games?
