Yes, check out the discussion Helen linked too. Lots of 1/48th scale plane manufacturers listed there, plus a bit of a discussion on the right scale for 28mm.
Many people assert that 1/48th planes are too big to use with 28mm figures. They have a point, but they are popular and the breadth of choice is staggering, as long as you can put up with the slight size problem. Also there are a wide range of prices to suit every budget, from £3.99 cheap and cheerful SMER kits, mid range Eduard £15 ones, right up to ridiculously-priced resin kits that you need to take out a second mortgage to afford.
I have been told on another forum that I am a fool to use 1/48th kits, and should be using 1/72 ones over my table top, as 1/48th takes up too much room (and as the plane is in the sky it doesn't need to be in scale with the figures on the ground). Well, that is all fine and dandy, but what if I want the thing to land?
So you pick your side and take your choice.
Where to get them depends on where you are in the world. I get mine from Hannants and Models for Sale's websites mostly, though I did get something off eBay recently.
