Franco-Russian Might and Reason battle

I had my first Might and Reason battle in over a year today. I was horribly rusty but still managed to sneak a win over the Russians with my trusty French. The Russians were played by an Imagi-Nation army previously used in our Pangaea campaign. Rhino is having the lads in green and red painted even as I write.

My apologies for the vagueness of these photos. I was caught up in the battle.

Put simply, the Russians occupied a hill on our left flank bristling with a shed-load of heavy artillery, grenadiers and gabions. I wisely chose to ignore certain death and avoided it. The centre was also a line of Gabions-R-Us with about eight units ("brigades") of infantry and cavalry behind them. The right flank had more infantry and three units of heavy cavalry and some, ptah, cossacks guarding a baggage train.

The forces of niceness chose a simple frontal assault made more feasible by the Russians having a small rush of blood to the head and leaping over the gabions to take us on in the open.

A bloodbath ensued.

I am happy to report to my Royal Highness, Louis XV that the scurrilous Russians, after a stern defence, cracked under the strain of our most gallant attack. And the baggage train is now ours.

This was the right flank's cavalry attack that, after much struggle, ended in a French victory. Very savage.

This was a schwerpunkt moment as the French finally cracked the Russian main line
