A few shots of a recent SCW game played at Phil's. All the terrain and figures are from his wonderful collection. He also built the terrain boards. Talented chap all round...except for dice throwing that is!

The Bridge was the game objective, defended at the start by Nationalist Militia

For the Republicans the Anarchists decide whether to attack or not! One squad crosses the road, to flank the bridge defences, while the other squad puts down covering fire on the Nationalists occupying a roadside shrine.

These troops proved dogged defenders and were only winkled out in turn six by the Republican tank.

The International Brigade infantry advances on the bridge in support of the tank, while a squad of Anarchists engage the defenders from the cover of a stone wall.

The tank commander decides to assualt the bridge defences, which results in the destruction of the defending squad. From a position astride the bridge in the latter turns the tank engaged the enemy anti tank gun and held off the Nationalist's puny Panzer I!
We used Bolt Action as the basis of the rules, with some home grown modifications to suit the complex politics of the SCW. As the twelve turns agreed on expired the Republican tank sat astride the bridge, blocking it to all comers, while the Republican infantry were safely dug in to cover the bridge approaches.
