Some German states in 15mm
« on: 16 October 2013, 10:56:24 PM »
Hi all,
as I have recently discussed with a fellow gamer met here ( ;) Nik) about my old napoleonic forays, I thought to post here some pics…maybe I could re-start them, who knows….
At the time I chose to skip the major powers and go for some of the small German states, focusing on 1812 Saxons and then extending in other colorful small contingents, from Baden to Berg or Nassau. They are all 15mm figs.

First some infantry.

Nassau grenadiers and voltigeurs

And some Saxon infantry

I will post some cavalry later
Cheers
Fabrizio

WTF...you paint 15's better than I could paint 28mm.  I no longer like you.

Thanks to everybody,

I apologize but I manage to fulfill my promise only now, so here is a first batch of pics of the cavalry. sorry, it is not too much...

Figs somewhat converted with some added or modified detail (enlarged helmet crests, details of the czapka etc..)

First some WIPs

Saxon Garde du Corps, my favourite (when they will be finished); I guess it is easy to imagine what the setting is supposed to be (I developed this sick passion for arranging bases as in micro-dioramas, just to make things quicker.. :()

And then some Berg lancers, first a WIP officer & trumpeter

And finally line troopers, something finished (therefore left at the end)…

Hope you like them
Cheers

They're gorgeous. I assume they're sculpted by Mr Barton.

Thanks Quirkworthy, in fact the cavalry are all AB (some of the horses from warmodelling), the infantry are AB as well as Warmodelling…

Here are the last cavalry figs, these time finished (save for the bases  ::)), AB French converted (save for one originally Saxon fig, on the left in the first pic, which has been anyway modified)

Saxon chevauxlegers

And chevauxleger-lancers

I'm not normally a fan of 15mm as a scale, but AB's stuff is gorgeous and you've done them proud. Lovely work.

Excellent work!

The piping on the Nassau grenadiers' coveralls blows my mind.  o_o
