Mark Allen himself wrote a corrective article explaining that many of the illustrations featured in the articles mentioned above were most likely incorrect and probably fabrications, designed by the Zinnfiguren manufacturer K.A. Wilke to help sell his figures. see Wargames Illustrated - BUILDING A WARGAMES ARMY PART FIVE (more on the Swedes) by Mark Allen
Is this article available online?
I would really like to read the arguments how someone wants to determine right from wrong in flags 400 years old....
I am really interested

Sadly I dont think its online but should be in the Wargames illustrated archive (?) I stopped buying this mag some time ago, just checking their website I cant see CDs of past issues...
Anyone know any different?

The entire swedish trophy of flags and other stuff is now digitised and online, of course its mainly Imperial stuff, but these are the real McCoy!

The snake sheds it\'s dove,

Hello Captaingeneral,
many thanks for the link.
I´m looking forward to our next discussion when I will post a thread to the implement of formations and tactics in TYW (referred as historical) to payable formations and tactics in wargames.

Hello Captaingeneral,

I have this book - Pike and Shot Tactics - but my army can not look like a Merian Print - because most of these shown formations could not be done with the available troops.
I will post an article to the formations soon.

I´m looking forward to your rules an will visit your website for some battle pictures.

meanwhile I am sure that I live and work in Cologne - looking out of by office-window I can see the twintowers of the cathedral  :D

Regards
Achim
