Inquisimunda: Raz' Eldar Strike Force
« on: 25 June 2013, 10:05:33 AM »
You all have seen Pil's and FM's gang for Inquisimunda and now that the LPL is over, I can finally show you the third participating gang in that campaign: my Eldar Strike Force. Although they had a difficult start, they quickly picked up speed, literally and figuratively speaking. This enabled them to control the flow of battle and decide when to engage and when to withdraw. They became as Eldar should be according to the fluff, which in the end proved to be extremely powerfull.

Here you see the force's specialists and rangers, the strike and recon elements. In the centre stands Korlandril, a striking scorpion. Because he was the leader of the strike force, I decided to use the Karandras model for him. As is fitting he became quite an elusive and fast fighter, difficult to hit and with a good punch in combat. To the left of him is Maerthuin, the fire dragon. He started out with a flamer, but as he developed both his WS and BS I gave him a fusion gun which combined with his fire dragon attribute (+1 to hit with melta weapons) gave him an awesome BS 8! Between them stands Thirianna. With her skills leap, feint, jump back, sprint and infiltrate she turned into a lighting fast killer with a treat range of 16"-21". On the right are the rangers, Bechareth and Aradryan, both became good marksman and did a great job in harassing the opponents.

The third element was my fire base. About half way through the campaign my eldar received a scatter laser from the seer council, mounted on a antigrav platform. This meant it could make a normal move and still shoot. It's operated by Aranarha, the guardian armed with a pistol standing on the left. Next to him stands Kenainath the force's warlock, who managed to turn quite a few engagements with a well aimed fireball and was king as a sentry because of sense presence! Behind them is Arhulesh, armed with a shuriken catapult he developed into a good shot, with crack shot and rapid fire. Being able to infiltrate made him an excellent asset. Last of all is Elissanadril, my personal favourite. She became an Aeon Flux with her skills sprint, leap, gunfighter, hipshooting and rapid fire for her shuriken pistols. Leaping and bounding she could speed up to the enemy and fire both pistols at them when in close range.

As an ex-Eldar player, I applaud the idea and paint schemes.  Good stuff.

Lovely, crisp painting  :-*

The blue/grey on the guardians is particularly nice.

Thanks guys. We played the campaign a while ago, so no new pictures of the games unfortunately. But I certainly can see us playing another campaign in the future. I won't be using these Eldar then, it's much more fun to build another gang 8) and the are quite a few that I'd like to try out :)
