Here are a few I've run, all based on local tales;

Headgate Hell The EvilMining Company's dam has broken and armed gangs desperately race about the board trying to use the headgates of the ditch system to shunt the coveted water to their own parched homesteads.

Beaver Days One wintry night a creepy old prospector with a bullet wound in his back stumbles into the saloon. With a last gasping breath he reveals he has hidden a fortune of gold in one of the many beaver mounds in the nearby ponds. Finders keepers, but watch out for thin ice, deep holes, poorly engineered dams and fellow drinkers. Plus, who did shoot the old coot?

Get out the Vote With armed troops trying to enforce a fair vote the local political bosses have every strongman in their arsenal rounding up reluctant voters. Numbers not gunplay will rule the day. Funny thing about gunplay and numbers though ...

One gallows for two Sheriffs Poor Tom Jenkins, with voting irregularities leaving the election in doubt both sheriff canidates are determined to be the one to hang him and claim the "law and order" title. The local working ladies are determined to see him safely out of town instead while the League of Civilized Voters just wants him back in jail.

A wake for the King of Shacktown The slum of tents, wikiups, and shacks on the sandbar down stream of Chinatown are the last stop for broken cow hands and derelict prospectors, a hospice for the hopeless. When the self proclaimed King dies all of the slum dwelling locals are stunned to learn that not only was he rich but that all is to divided amongst the mourners at his funeral. How many will still be standing by the time the coffin reaches boot hill?

Cory, thanks!  Some of those sound excellent...though I don't have the terrain to pull off some of them.  I'm going to be hosting games at Spring Fever in Raleigh, NC, and then hopefully GnomeCon in Savannah, GA in the next two months --- so I need to choose and playtest a good scenario or four...

The Beaver Days scenario was written specifically to deal with a terrain shortage. We used some bare birch trees in the Lemark style, just wire and white tape. The "land" areas were covered in snow and used white felt. For the icy areas along shore we used broken plastic covers for shop lights misted with white spray paint and the beaver mounds and dams were broken twigs glued together with Elmers. The water was a black faux naugahyde spray painted with a dusting of blue.

All of it put together with less than $20 at Walmart the night before a con.

"Get me to the church on time"

one member of posse A is selected as the groom the rest of the gang his groomsmen - they start of the edge of town.

one member of posse B is the jilted beau and the rest his friends who are intent on stopping posse A reaching the church where the bride (and armed preacher?) is waiting at the altar.

the groom must make it to the church and spend three turns inside with the bride

I was planning on using a monsoon event during my second skirmish game for the conventions...so I think I'll adapt your wedding idea into some form of "Monsoon Marriage" scenario...hmmm...

(converting my GF9 river sections to desert monsoon/mudslide pieces...which will be placed on the board as characters draw certain cards etc)  I'm going to work on the river pieces tonight, get them started.  Thanks for the inspiration.  :)

EDIT: Just ordered a batch of Black Scorpion minis...and I've decided I will be naming my scenario "West Saloon Story"...the young Mexican marrying a well-to-do white girl, daughter of a Cattle Baron who's friends with the local Marshal etc.   :D

That's a brilliant scenario, now I need to get me a church...

Couple of my own:

"Necktie party"- Lawmen march bandit leader to gallows, outlaws try to rescue said leader. Complications in the form of law abiding citizens joining in with the law as soon as the shooting starts.

"Who done it???"- The families McSlime and O'Scruff have a feud going on, one citizen in town have something they can use against each other, one family try to extract the info, the other try to silence the stoolie, but they don't know WHO it is. First they need to get one citizen in the centre of the table to talk, then a random roll will determine who and where the target is (I use a D6, one number in each corner of the table and two in the centre on opposite sides, target in building.)
The most important thing in the hobby is that you're having FUN! Doesn't matter if you win or lose.
