[Kickstarter] The Ravine
« on: 02 May 2024, 07:00:21 AM »
I've got another kickstarter going. 3d printing as usual.
This one is pretty unique and was really fun to come up with a working design. It is a ravine for the tabletop. My catch phrase for it is "Give your games more depth... literally" as to work it you put to tables of the same height together. (Stretch goals will include pieces so you don't quite need this.)
Anyway, I've never seen any designs like this before for going below table depth. Here's a look
Also a link if you are interested. There are some pretty cool bridges in there.

Awesome idea and great looking product!  8)

I actually have seen this before, many years ago, but it went down al the way to the ground and it was scratchbuilt especially for a convention scenario. Yours looks much more manageable and useable, even for casual games.

How deep does the terrain go?

I've got modules with different types of terrain (3 of each, desert, snow, temperate, wasteland, each 120x60cm) that I put together to create a full table. They're also 34mm thick; a foam sheet plus a sheet of MDF on the bottom; would your solution work with that limited depth?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Zorpazorp is literally doing this right now with the Imperial Palace.

It goes down roughly 12cm.

That's really weird as he is in NZ too and I looked at some pictures and he has the same tables I use and the same garage door. Creepy, lol
His does look cool and I'm sure others have also done something similar but mine is the first I've known as STL's for sale.
