British Infantry 1800
« on: 07 December 2015, 08:21:44 AM »

Hi All,

So.... I saw all the new Perry British in Egypt figures. I want to do some regiments and I am not sure of the make up of them.
I would like to have 30 figures to a Battalion(six bases). So my question is how many grenadiers would I need for a company and how many figures for a flank company?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well the obvious answer would be 3 figures for grenadier company and 3 for light company as a battalion of 10 companies at 30 figs would be 3 figures per company. However it also depends how you use the flank companys in the rule set you play. Do you need to be able to detach them from the battalion to operate individually, a problem if based with centre company figures on a single base, or can you use other figures to represent them if deployed? So it sort of depends how you intend to use them.

Wot !!! only three figures to a company. Thanks for the info :-)

Next question will be which end would the Grenadiers go .....left or right of the standard?

Grenadiers on the right, Lights on the left.
My naps are based for the Shako ruleset but also used for Black Powder so I have 18 figure Battalions on three bases with 2 Grenadiers and 2 Lights per battalion. Each battalion also has a skirmisher stand, mine have 4 Light figures, which is used to represent the Light company when deployed forward of the battaion as a skirmisher screen.
