I've started a blog for the Tekumel Project:

Please come and visit and comment if you like.

Not much there yet, but will be adding info about past and future releases, rules, etc.

I am glad to see that this range and setting is being resuerrected.  I had some of the Ral Partha Figures that came out oh so long ago, and I have toyed with the idea of creating an army or two for my Fantasy Adventures.  The only problem that held me back was that there were no cavalry on Tekumel.  What is a Fantasy Battle without cavalry?  I am glad that this oprtion is being presented because I still may go with it one of these days.

True - Tekumel proper has no cavalry. But it has cool aliens to compensate: Hlaka, Shen, Ahoggya, Pe Choi, Pachi Lei, Swamp Folk, Pygmy Folk, Serudla can all be found in some (or all) of the armies of the Five Empires. I've probably forgotten one, or two!

And then there are the Enemies of Mankind: the Ssu and the H'luss.

What's not to like?

Of course, one need not do strictly Tekumel battles. Who is to say that a non-canon Tekumel can't have horses?

I have heard somebody say they wanted to use the legion of Ever-Present Glory for Gondor troops and IIRC someone else was outfitting the Yan Koryani with ray guns! :o

Best Regards,

Howard Fielding

Actually, if one did want to add cavalry, how about these...

Check out the last picture of the LOTR Gondor cavalryman on the Eureka renaissance Gendarme horse.

I've also looked at the TAG horses from their Medieval Eastern ranges. They have some "dragon horses" in one of the Chinese ranges. Not sure what size they are, however...

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

 ;D

Calling Tékumel a detailed setting is a bit of an understatement - you only really 'need' to read the Recent Events part.

They are nice models, and easily morphed into other settings.

well I am thinking sencse I am currently investing heavly into my NorthWest fronter Raj forces and the Afrad. I dont see it as much of a streach to add a few of them into a VSF campainge
