Would you consider this Pulp?
« on: 01 August 2013, 03:46:37 AM »
I'm working on this figure from Reaper, Betty the Space Heroine and I think she can be counted as a Pulp figure. She has this little demon with her though so I don't know if you guys would disqualify her as Pulp. I've tried to use the colours from Pulp fiction on her and her demon.

I'd like to post her in the Pulp Painting Club when she is finished.

I also have 3 servo bots and an alien. Those I know are Pulp.

Can I post Betty in the 100 Club?

In my opinion, this is definitely within the pulp genre. Awesome work, Anne!  :-* :-*

For what its worth, I think you should post her to the PPC.

Absolutely.

Just about the only working definition of pulp is if you could see the figure appearing on the cover of a pulp magazine or book.

Definitely a Thrilling Tale cover. And very nicely done.

Please do.

I found a really good exposition of what constitutes 'The Pulp Era' here:

Thank you all! I've gotten bored with painting Fantasy figures and need a break. I bought a small collection of Pulp recently as I like the mood and the colour of the era. So right now I have three servo bots, two Illyrian agents, an evil Alien Queen, a Space Chimp, a Bad Guy Bot and one Secret Agent female.

I want to do some of the detective stuff as those stories are great. I'm going to sell of some off my Fantasy stuff so I can buy some detective figures.

I finished her last night, so all I need to do is get a couple of good pictures and I'll post her in the PPC.

Thank you all for your kind support :D

I'd consider it planetary romance, but that's just a subgenre of pulp if you ask me. As usual I'm impressed with your base desing.

Definitely pulp! Also I should mention that your painting skills are growing astoundingly fast. I loved the skin and the base.
