I really like the lilypads. Did you make them by yourselves, or are they from some kind of railroad supply?
Glitzer, the lily pads are just circles of card cut with a punch and painted. I did a bit of quick wet blending on them to build some colour contrast, but the varnish killed most of that. The main thing is that they went on before the varnish, so they are in/below the surface.
Excellent piece of terrain, I love the effect that different base colours have on the water. However I don't fancy waiting 8 days for the varnish to dry so I might try it using water effects such as the ones by Woodland Scenics. Do you know if that would work as well?
Never tried it. I'm pretty happy usually to trade time for cost, but this was almost too far. I'm pretty sure that the ultra-clear high-build two-pack epoxy sold for varnishing fishing rods would work and be quicker, but the last time I used any it cost about £1 per ml and the cost of this piece would have gone through the roof! I'll look into the Woodland Scenics stuff for future builds perhaps
That's a very nice scenery! What impresses me most are the little waves through the pool! How did you manage to make them?
I wish I knew! Some bizarre set of circumstances must have occurred, and I have no idea what they were so I haven't a clue how to replicate this!
Thanks all for your insight and praise!
