Dwarf armies what can i put in them ?

Hi lads well am hoping to start and paint up a 15mm dwarf army in October ( have some TYW,lizardmen AWI first ! )

The thing is I am not sure weather to have a heavy weapon armed army or go down the spearmen route 

Could I add a few hill giants to the army ?

 what I do know is them Copplestone figs    will play a key part in IT.Please someone  tell me they will be doing some bow armed troops ..

demonworld look very nice models BUT they  are 15mm GW with too many BOOM sticks ,and too much plate armour for my taste (need to keep it on the lines of dark ages track.)    having said that the Dwarf pony riders look very nice .

you could give me your input on this it would help me out a great deal
