Latest 4Ground Japanese shogunate houses and fences

My Japanese villagers are all abuzz as construction work moves ahead at a great pace in their shogunate village. The frames of two new 4Ground 28mm buildings have recently appeared, one the start of a village rice barn, the other a peasant labourer's dwelling.

They look awesome, your black wash really makes the fence look great.  I'm thinking more and more of getting this kit for my bushido games.

I know there are a lot people who bash on laser-cut MDF stuff, but 4Ground makes some damn fine kits.  I didn't read your blog, but I'm glad you re-based the fences.  The fence bases for the DMH stuff from 4Ground are disastrously crap and need-rebasing as well.

You're putting together quite a lovely little village.

Excellent 8/10!!  Put a decent cloth under it and it's definitely a 10/10.

Elbows, I haven't re-based the fences at all.  All I've done is to give 4Ground's bases a coat of PVA and sand, but prior to attaching the boarding on the rails.

I'm still not sure about MDF kits where the tabs really show.  But these 4Ground houses are so cunningly designed that they don't need visible tabs, except for a couple of places on the verandah roofs (hidden by the thatch, though) and on the ridge-pole structure on the roof (which I could easily disguise with some paint).

Arteis - have you had an issue with your fences falling over?  The DMH ones get very prone to knocking over if you use the provided bases.    (oddly poor design given how ingenious many of their other products are!)

@Elbows:  I haven't tried them on an actual cloth-covered table as yet.  But I think I can see what you're getting at - the design cross-section is an L-shape, rather than an upsidedown T-shape, which could make them prone to falling over one way.
