VSF Sunday at BLAM
« on: 04 November 2013, 11:56:43 PM »
I got to take part in the VSF game at BLAM on Sunday.
Using Malamute and Jimbibbly's gorgeous figures and terrain.
I took the part of the British.
I had to get a convoy of tea supplies to the camp in time for tea.

The tea was being escorted by the Burpa rifles and some Martian askari

The first Martian clan on the board appeared right beside the tea party. The Burpa rifles managed to shoot a few before they were swamped by the ferocious Martian close assault.

The Martian Askari charged one of the Martian units but were wiped out taking a couple of Martians with them. Then the Martian wiped out the Burpa Rifles but the brave rifles managed to take down enough of the Martians to force them to retire

But the brave sacrifice of the rifles allowed the tea party to get away

Post some more photos tomorrow

Another very well presented game and a vitally important mission. The tea must get through!

Martians were now appearing all round the board and my allies, the Japanese, were taking a bit of a beating and falling back to the camp
Camp at the start

Some walkers belonging to the Japanese that were not ready for the battle :'(

Big fight at the front of the camp

The Royal Geographical Society took the high ground and gave excellent cover fire to the tea party, cutting down some of the pursuing Martians

But it was not enough, as a tribe of viscous Martians caught and charged the unarmed tea bearers but too the surprise of everyone they managed to "hold their own" and win the fight only loosing one bearer. The invisible Ninja may have helped :D

The British firing line then proceeded to whittle down the attacking Martians and even more surprising started to advance on the Martians, killing them off until they were forced to run
Victory to the British, Time for tea and Medals :D

Forgot to say the Martians managed to set fire to a fence and a field of crops lol

Tea and medals, huzzah!  :) Great AAR there.

This game looked brilliant. There was something about the colour of the Martian landscape I found oddly soothing! I did get distracted from my medieval plans several times by this game. Another triumph I'd say!  :D
