HMLS Thunder Steam Tank 28MM (1/64 scale)
« on: 09 December 2013, 05:31:39 PM »
Great display item or game piece. Fighting department of the steam tank rotates as a turret. Body of kit is cardboard reinforced paper.  Metal parts include 6" Naval Rifle, two Gatling Guns, Two Vertical Steam Boilers, Two Stokers, Engineer, Seven Crewmen, Railing Stantions, headlights and Searchlight.

Wow cool!

I really like the overall look and design of that particular landship. It really seems spot-on.

Recognized as soon as I saw the piccie, John. Handsome piece, but still stymied by hull-as-turret. Sorry, narrow minded jade, you see.

'Body of kit is cardboard reinforced paper.' Am tempted by that, though. I'm lousy with print-and-fold, but sounds like this may offer me a glimmer.

And if I never 'swivel', you won't know.  lol

HI Doug: Thanks for your interest.  The idea of the fighting compartment swiveling was inspired by a Steam Shovel I saw as a child. The entire cab including the boiler and boom swiveled 360 degrees.  It was fascinating to watch.

Ah, much clearer. Know exactly what you mean, though not entirely convinced. However, part of the charm of VSF is the really weird and wild things tried.
