A Second 'Personality' figure
« on: 30 December 2013, 06:46:12 PM »
For Christmas from my son Matthew and his family I received the second 'personality' figure for my ACW collection, the Confederate General Jubal E Bykleigh! Here he is in all his glory...

Again, as with the earlier Union version, the head is mounted on a Redoubt figure which is in turn mounted on a Dixon horse to match my collection, with a couple of enthusiastic Dixon figures cheering him on to his next triumph, or not... Thankfully this time its modelled on an earlier, and slimmer, me! Matt remembered my Mexican tache, which I sported for several years in my post beard phase! I've painted it, and the supports, in the style I used for my old ACW collection, mostly using washes and dry brushing on the uniforms, equipment and headgear, combined with a bit of the three colour principle for the faces and horse! A bit mix and match, but I think he'll do...

I'm not fooled by that moustache, last time I saw that gentleman he was fighting for the Union. Nice work by Matt and an equally nice bit of painting.
