Dug these out of the minis box today and wow how characterful they are! Anybody know the manufacturer?

Thanks for the tip Jim. Seems these were originally dwarfs from the Aureola Rococo line. They have the ARD codes on the bases

Seem more like hobbits to me with their barefeet and lack of beards! I have more as well maybe the whole set. Will be digging them out tomorrow!

Look like Minifigs to me.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Appeared in 2 ranges, first Aureolo Rococ;

and later, with an added sculpt, in the World of Greyhawk;

I wonder how compatible they would be with old Der Kriegspieler Halfling miniatures?  Very full of character indeed!

Edit:  Are they still available somewhere?

Gracias,

Glenn

Funny how these were sold as dwarfs. I've been conditioned to expect long beards!! I'll be painting them as hobbits anyhow. Minifigs have been reissuing some vintage figures but not these. I think I may have the other four somewhere will try to dig them out tomorrow.

I remember the one with a lantern from Minifigs "Valley of the Four Winds" range.
Caliver have rereleased some of the VFW figures recently, maybe you should drop them an email?

Nice find! so much character, would love to see them painted. I don't know if its nostalgia but some of the "character" is missing from a lot of modern ranges, it has been usurped by detail!  ;)
