The Watling Street Benevolent Society
« on: 01 January 2014, 05:56:07 AM »
I have posted some photos, a tiny bit of background, and a force roster for my latest IHMN team painted over Christmas: The Watling Street Benevolent Society.

The WSBS is composed of the wives of influential men who were entirely fed up with the limited options available to women in Victorian society, and so have formed a "Benevolent Society" to hide their real activities: fighting, adventuring, and travelling.

More photos on my phlog.

A splendid addition to the IHMN universe  :D

How did you create the force list? Is it a template others could easily use?

Lovely figures, might have to look up Micro Arts myself.  Hopefully they'll be for sale at Salute again, that would save me some customs and shipping fees.

Fantastic and very charactful models and I feel a slight kindred to them as I used to live on a Watling street ;)

I took a piece of Victorian stationary off the internet - it was originally a death notice - and modified it somewhat with photoshop. It's not really an easily-shareable template at this point, I'm afraid. If someone would like the photoshop file I would be happy to share that. I'm sure the copyright notice at the bottom has expired, since it's at least 113 years old.

The name comes from the Battle of Watling Street, where Boudicca was defeated by the Romans.

And the road that used to run from Dover to London in its entirety. Were I live deep under the modern road still lies some of the original roman road surface. Some would say that it is better than the current road surface lol
