Chaos renegade painted
« on: 31 December 2013, 02:53:36 PM »
Hi Everyone  :)

I've decided to start painting again after a 13 year break  :?. So I'm practising  on some  Space marines.

I've just about completed one Renegade marine so far.

what do you think?

Thanks
George

He's a bit red. ;)

Good start and like the kneepad and floor. You still got to do the joints and the cabling and the horns george. Bit shiney ;). Nothing that a bit of dullcote won't fix.

anyway,  haven't u got other things to finish... ::)

I kind of like the all red. He's got kind of a blood-soaked apparition look to it!

Yeah, working on the sculpts as well ;)

Does he look OK shiny?

I thought it would be OK as its armour and I was trying to make him look sort of demonic  :?

Looks good but better with all the little details finished off mind. Being all red currently looks a little 'army painter' if you know what I mean. ;)

The all red looks very RT/John Blanche (that's a good thing). I would paint the extra bits as suggested (horns, metal tips, white skull on chest and backpack), but definitely don't spray him with matt varnish (you could apply matt varnish with a brush to the joints, etc afterwards).

I'd leave the cabling and rivets in red. Personal choice though. In the end you've made a pretty good effort after such a long break - it's like riding a bike!

Thanks for the feedback  :)

Just about finished another two...

Might get myself a dreadnought or a LOTRs Cave Troll to use as a mutant / beserker pet for the squad.

thanks
Cheers
