Plastic gw trees

Well after taking ages , I’ve finally done these, can’t say I enjoyed them at first but using oil paints really made a difference to the base acrylic colors!

I'm rather fond of the GW spooky trees and yours look great. You were wise to leave the canopies off.

The trees look great and they fit very well with your mausoleum- they really enhance one another to create a sense of atmosphere!
I have a YouTube and so can you!

Great work on them.  I never liked those trees...but mainly because they don't fit with anything else that I have tree-wise.  But if it's all you had on the table, for a very 'Sleepy Hollow' look, I think they look pretty cool.

I have also never before been impressed by those trees, but the way they have been here is actually quite impressive for a spooky theme. I could well see them decorating an old graveyard or ruined town.

Just to ask, are these trees on their original bases or have they been swapped for larger ones? Also, do you have any plans on how to use the leftover foliage - could it work as autumn ground litter?

Thanks guys, the foliage canopy’s were chucked in the bin a long time ago, they reminded me of fisher price toys when I was a kid, I rebased the trees onto mdf rounds, also sliced of the chunky round base areas from the trees.

It pains me to hear of miniature pieces being chucked to bin rather than bits box, even when they are found to be rather lacking. Then again, I accidentally ended up binning today couple of small plastic parts that I had just cleaned of mould lines - luckily I discovered my mistake a few hours later and manged to recover the bits from the bin.

For another source of bit spooky looking plastic Citadel trees, the Walls and Fences set (re-released for ToW, with two sprues per box) contains couple of smaller dried trees - they are part of the wall strips, but can be cut off and glued on their own bases (I just stuck one on 30 mm steel washer to keep it stable).

Some of the walls themselved look like they could make for decent graveyard walls, and there is also a signpost with a raven sitting lonely on top.
