Tobruk; plans of fortifications of the Siege?
« on: 11 April 2014, 06:34:15 AM »
Hi all,

I was hoping that someone could make a good suggestion as to a book (or link) that would deal with the Siege of Tobruk, especially one with decent maps and pics of the fortifications?

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Darrell.

This may not have the amount of detail you are looking for, but it is free and a good read. http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/CSI/CSI-Tobruk/miller.asp.html

Try Volume III of the Australian official history: 'Tobruk and El Alamein' by Chester Wilmot. The maps in the official histories are generally very good. They are all online these days at the Australian War Memorial site along with bags of photos. Searchable archive too.
