Removable buildings bases
« on: 26 November 2006, 09:22:13 AM »
I don't have a lot of space to store my scenics between games, so I don't base my buildings. The main drawback is that once on the table, the buildings are too perfect.

I painted up several additional building bases from Pardulon, http://pardulon.com/ . They greatly enhance simple buildings by breaking the ground lines.

It should be easy to do the same from scratch, but they are rather cheap and some of them have interesting details such as barrel, wheel, etc.

Great idea! I've got a ton of buildings and they never seem to look right. Now I can break up the straight lines with some slight rises.

Great idea!

I'm not building bases for my houses, too. So I can put them both on the green field and on stony city terrain.

How do you get the bases so close to the house wall? Are they just made from cardboard and stones or are there some layers of wood or foam under them?

"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

That´s a very clever idea, indeed... I wish I had thought of it before glueing my base parts to the house´s base.
