1/48 ?
« on: 01 June 2014, 01:11:04 AM »
Hi all
have just added finished piccying the start of my 1/48 second world war collection
Having painted many 28mm ww2 figgies over the years I went back to my original love of kit making an have decided to use the Tamiya stuff for my skirmish sets
Unusually I have found that Wargames Factory's so called 1/56 figs are actually the same as Tamiya 1/48 (as you will see from the piccies)so I am using both for my Germans an Americans.
thought you may like a look
all the vehicles are kits...

It starts with the GERMANS attacking a village...

and then later as their supports move through the same village...

Please have a look at my site

Fantastic looking collection there!  8)

It's probably more like "Tamiya's so-called 1/48th figures" truth told, as they are a smaller scale than the 1/48th models they come with. The sides of a Universal Carrier come around just above nipple/below shoulder height on an average soldier, not head height, while real Hanomag's are actually head height and not somewhere above that (not counting that the figures are on bases).

Seriously though, they all look the part and I worry more about how I would play the game than whether the figures/vehicles are exactly to scale... there are certainly worse offenders out there.
