Warlord concentrating on Pacific/Sino Campaign?
« on: 12 August 2014, 09:01:40 PM »
With the release of the new Chinese list for Bolt Action i've started to wonder if maybe it's their next focus. They have essentially tapped out the Europe campaign as they have units and expansions from the beginning, D-Day and the fall of Berlin which is at the wars end.

Not only that but I notice out of the blue that they are doing new packs for the chindits, I feel it makes sens as well in that the Perry twins have the war in the desert pretty comprehensively covered and combine that with Artizans range and the theater is flooded with high quality miniatures.

It'll be pretty interesting to see what they bring out for china as they seem to have taken inspiration from Copplestone's ''bodyguard miniature'' as Chinese officers can have one.

A plastic kit would be great as it would necessarily be compatible with interwar rules as well, I could see the Army being a choice of Poorly Equipped but numerous and fanatical reds or American equipped Nationalists under Kai-Shek.

While not my cup of tea, their chindits do look nice...
They have also started ( or rereleased?) With early war Heer and BEF in metal.
I'm still waiting for designated US paratrooper snipers and Jeep crew.

They have US Para Jeep crew, I had some. Quite nice and dynamic models nice.

Their re-release of the EW models are horrid. The bodies are fine,  the separate heads are crap. Why they didn't keep the original, excellent, Warlord models is anyone's guess. If you can find Warlord models without lopped off heads, they tend to be much better than the re-releases. I've had many Warlord armies. :)

I don't think Warlord is focusing on any one thing - except money, and broad variety in the market. Sure, Perry own the desert war, but Warlord have some armour etc that is suitable too. Just no infantry - why would they? They can't sculpt at half the skill that Perry can  :P

Gonna have to agree with you there, I hate the lopped off heads and liked the old miniatures, it bothers me when they buy up a perfectly good range and start redoing the miniatures as separate heads, I loathe them and would probably own a very large(or several) armies of warlord did their minis with fixed heads.
