Multiverse Gaming MDF bunker kit (15 mm)
« on: 12 May 2015, 06:28:25 PM »
Multiverse Gaming Terrain sent me a couple of their new MDF kits a few weeks ago, so I put this one together and reviewed it on my blog.  This is the "Command Bunker" from the "Outpost 15" line.

In a nutshell, it's very nice!  Perfect fit, easy to build and turned out looking good.  It turns out MDF is not my favourite material to paint, but I got the job done.

(The other kit I got is "Apartment Block" but it's not really sci-fi, and I haven't had time to build it up yet.)

Aargh! This showed up in my news feed earlier tonight and I was SUPER excited until I went to their website. WHY 15mm and not 28 as well?! I need a good 28mm totally-not-the-RotJ-shield-bunker bunker for my WotC repaints :(

Your paint job looks absolutely great, really like the weathering and the table/backdrop. Really top notch gaming terrain there! I just wish the company made it bigger as well :(

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

Multiverse is a new venture (hence sending me a free kit to review) and obviously each product offered is a risk taken.  Based on the prices of other 28 mm scale terrain on Multiverse's site, a larger version of this kit would not be cheap.

That said, and while I encourage all readers to visit the website and support his business, you could always steal this clever design and replicate it with foamcore.   The SW shield bunker didn't even have rounded cutouts like this does, it'd be easier to cut the wall detail from card stock by hand.
