Very nice, a very neat paint job. Did  the pilots all paint on their own designs - such as the dragon on this one?

Thank you, yes, the Germans were famous for their personal emblems, but the rest of the plane usually followed the squadron colours. British pilots were discouraged from this, but there is a few flashy ones out there!

I read your blog on how much of fiddle you found attaching the wheels. Not throw salt in your wounds. But I've been throwing this problem around for a while in 28mm and have managed to get the Albatros down to Five parts, and A Sopwith down to four (including the prop and the pilot). But I had no idea how to paint the Albatros when it comes back ,until I saw yours. It looks more pulp than real, but If you were mad enough to get in one. then what the heck.

Thanks, do you make your own planes? This one is an Eduard 1/72nd kit, which is why the undercarriage was tricky to build. It's something that is similar in all Eduard kits that I have built, even 1/48th scale ones. It is a true colour scheme, the Germans were certainly gaudy with their aircraft and to be honest, it may look rickety to us, but these planes were certainly the height of technology at the time!

That die-cast Alb is lovely! I really like the scheme on that one!

I will be adding some to the 1st Corps ww1 range. The first two are just proof of concept models.Designed for wargaming rather than model kits for display.
The Sopwith was made first it has a metal Prop and metal half pilot. The plane is in two resin parts. The Albatros is a refinement of the methods used, and is two metal parts and three resin.
I' ve a Sopwith painted so I could post you a couple of pictures with some 28mm Figures next to it ,if you want?
They've actually been floating around my workshop for last four years. They always go down well at club games So Simon put in the last WW1 advert ,that they were to be released so I guess I'll be making more now lol

Excellent, I'd love to see them, I play mainly in 15mm for the ground stuff and 1/144th for the air war. But 28mm aircraft is an interesting concept!
