wow thanks again for the great advice !
i will totally check out Matakishi's page for the pdfs
and i havent thought of the pinecone bushes before

i already have jungle terrain and a s***load of rocks etc as me and some friends used to host 40 turnaments in the past....

so it seems i only need one or two buildings and some fences/walls (that shoudl be pretty easy to build :D)

thanks alot guys

As it is settled in New England you can´t go wrong if you copy a deutsche Mittelgebirgslandschaft, due to the similar climatic conditions. Innsmouth is located on the coast, therefore you´d like to display some harbour area instead. It´s up to you. Buildings would be made of stone and bricks rather than wood, I suppose. Althoug there will be cabins, shacks and warehouses of wood too.

Fenris games out of my head. And Rendera. MDF for first IIRC and plastic for second.

For fancy ones, Stronghold
http://stronghold-terrain.de/index.php/medieval/walls-streets.html
and Thomarillion
http://thomarillion.de/index.php?seite=katalog&modell=gitterset&pos=1&sprache=d_
http://thomarillion.de/index.php?seite=katalog&modell=einfriedung2_&pos=1&sprache=d_
http://thomarillion.de/index.php?seite=katalog&modell=einfriedung3_&pos=1&sprache=d_

But I've also bought H0 scale railway model fences, which are supposed to be industrial strength and height but work well as modest fencing in 28mm.

There were complete graveyards with iron fences by GW and Tabletop World but both may be OOP.

The Renedra church comes with plenty of picket fences, which are the most useful kind they offer. You can get more from their own store.

The GW graveyard is still available (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod1290008a), though it requires a fair bit of work to get rid of all the skulls jammed between the rails. I'm still slowly working my way through mine, one wall/building at a time. Once cleaned up, they do look very nice indeed though

For their intended look and feel, yes. H0 is about 1/87. Our 28mm-ish "scale" is usually approximated to something like 1/56-1/60 with even larger stuff like 1/48 often used for playability, base compensation, modern scale creep and so on. H0 goes to the wrong direction, looking already small for 25mm stuff and even smaller for 30mm+ with bulky proportions.

However, you can still use some flexible-scale items like fences and trees. Just buy an item which is intended as "large" and it will appear like its small counterpart. Tall trees become medium trees etc., which is quite acceptable. Probably won't work with most buildings, though.

That stonehenge model looks very good. The magnet connections was a good idea.

One thing I can't recommend enough is a Bag of Cthulhu from Fantasy Flight Games. It has nearly infinite uses.

seconded.  they might be one of those things that "everyone uses", but they're so great, there's no reason not to!
