Orc warbands
« on: 04 November 2014, 03:40:10 PM »
I've knocked together some guidelines for generating Orc warband for use with Warhammer fantasy battle. Specifically 3rd edition, they work fine with Realms of Chaos war bands, keeping pace with progression but in a non-chaotic way. Well maybe with a bit of Chaos. They ought to be good for most versions of Warhammer though so you may find it useful even if you don't game in the past like myself. These are a work in progress, it has for example been pointed out to me that there are not snottlings available in the tables. We live and learn.

Considering it's free the Orc name generator is worth the price alone (and perhaps not much more)...

Given where you live perhaps my original old school boyz can take on your new old school boyz in a game some time.

That might be something to look forward to. Only need to paint up enough to make an army, how many points you thinking.

@Lancer

I was thinking along the lines of trying out some green skin warbands using these tables. Feel free to guide the rolls towards what you have painted up in your new range of Orcs. I know you're on the Oldhammer Forum too, there are a bunch of us from the local area (East Beds, Herts and south Cams) that are trying to meet up semi regularly and a mini orc warbands campaign has been suggested and not by me!

A big game is fine too though finding the time away from a young family isn't always easy.

@Blue
Let me know if you get any use out of them then Blue.

Also what with you being a dwarf lover I do intend to move the campaign focus out from just the badlands towards the Worlds Edge mountains. I'll then expand out with some minor dwarf and Skaven tables for those who don't follow the true green path.
