Looking for a good modern board
« on: 07 November 2014, 04:49:32 AM »
Here's a timely topic. What are some good modern boards out there?

My interest in the period is only nascent at the moment else I'd start off with a list of my own. The Guild is a fairly obvious one I take it, with a 20mm focus.

Yup, The Guild would be a good choice. There are some really interesting modern threads active there right now and many older ones that would serve as reference as well as inspiration.

It's true that the focus there is on 'The One True Scale',  ;) 20mm, but folk do play and post in other scales.

You will find a few friendly, familiar faces there no doubt.

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Yup, plenty of Moderns on the Guild. You can also check out the Ambush Alley forum perhaps?

Any idea how long the mod(s?) over there take to approve join requests?

I joined the forums on a new website, The Wargames Website. Not a massive amount of discussion yet but it's only been going since the end of July. The modern board only has a few posts per day but hopefully it will pick up steam.

Thanks for this thread.  I'd been planning a modern project and it now would not fit on this board.  Cheers, I'll hop onto some of those other boards.
