Frumgar the Northman
« on: May 13, 2015, 08:32:23 AM »
My first miniature this year   :'(

This is a home cast using Prince August molds. The metal temperature was wrong and the miniature came out with missing parts and soft detail. 20 years after I've decided to give him all my love.

Head and axe are Wargames Factory and it has sculpted bits all around.

I have to endorse this, for what are probably very obvious reasons to any ridiculously diehard Tolkien fan.  lol

(good work on the mini - I quite like the colour choices)

Thanks all for the nice comments!

Fram, just for you the background of the character I'll use the miniature for:

Story:
Frumgar is a Leofring* who claims to be a decendant of Fram Dragonkiller, the hero who defeated Scatha. Thus, he has a dragon on his shield and he says Dragonkiller is his family name by birthright. More of a hardened sellsword than a hero, it remains to be seen which side he will line with in the dark times ahead.

The Leofrings are a creation of The One Ring (the current Middle-earth RPG). They are a group of the eotheod who refused to leave their ancestral lands to follow Eorl the Young and settle in land later known as Rohan. They were rule by a lord called Leof, hence the name. In the period between The Hobbit and LotR they are seminomadic horse-riding folk and they are few in number. Frumgar is an acomplished rider, but his adventures have taken him to Mirkwood and over the Misty Mountains so he has specialized in foot combat with his trusted two handed axe or sword and shield.
