Anyone interested in a play-by-email-campaign?
« on: 04 January 2015, 04:23:46 PM »
I am going to be running a play-by-e-mail campaign set in Tekumel, starting in April of 2015. No experience is required; this will be a 'Braunstein'-style campaign, and I'll be running the battles, skirmishes, and adventures just the way we did back in the dawn of time when I was playing with guys like Arneson, Wesely, Maker, etc.

Players will be junior to middle to senior officers, depending on what they would like to play, and will receive reports from their soldiers - and lovely engravings of what they see, thanks to the technology of the Ancients. Battles will be fought on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, and will be visible on Google+ hangouts for those who want to watch. (Skype is also an option, too.) Players need not be on Google+ to play; we'll also be putting the games up on You Tube, as well. I'll be sending out all the information you'll need; the miniatures will be the ones we used in Prof. Barker's games.

Interested? Let me know!

Sounds fun, but I don't even know what Tekumel is...so I guess I'm out.  I'd like to see what other people get out of it!

You don't have to know anything - we didn't either, back in the day! :)

Think Ancients in funny hats, dumped in a blender with Pulp, VSF, Barsoom, and 1950s fantasy and science fiction, and the blender set to 'puree'. Zap guns, swords, sorcery, spaceships, handsome Princes, Beautiful Princesses (who usually pack heat), and heaps of picturesque aliens... :)

Cool, unfortunately doesn't appeal to me at all...but I always enjoy following big campaigns run by multiple players.
