Soda Can Storage Tank by Ironheart Artisans
« on: 20 February 2015, 02:06:04 AM »
Greetings folks.  Working on my post-apocalyptic airport project for the summer con circuit for This Is Not a Test and I have just finished the fuel tanks.  This was a MDF kit by Iron Heart Artisans.  You provide your own beer cans, which was just fine for me.  This is the four tank version, but he does have one, two, and three tank variants as well.  I must say the kit is really nice and has a industrial feel without being too sci-fi.  Bases can even be slotted into the ladder, so your little dudes can enjoy the view from half way up.These are not on the website just  yet, but should be soon.  Project was mostly washes, drybrushing, and GW's own little miracle Typhus Corrosion.  So here are the pics.

Thanks.

Nice kit, nice finish.

And you have to drink a few cans first.
What more could you ask for?

That's nicely done. The add-ons do a good job of disguising the cans.

That looks really great, and that kit makes building something I was going to do anyway much easier. Wish it showed up on their website though.  :?

Excellent work.  I'm not usually a fan of lasercut kits, but that is great looking.

Thanks everyone. If you want one, I'm sure you can email him.  I told him to get it up on the site because lots of people are saying they want one.  My paint job is okay, but wait until a real artist gets a hold of it.   For the project, I still need to paint multiple planes, military vehicles, make the runway, and then figure out the hangars and control tower.  The latter two can be had from Plasticville, but I would like a more military look.  Have until mid-summer to get this ready, so I have time.  Having a goal really makes you stick to a project.

Ironheart Designs does some really nice stuff. I bought a few of their North African things a couple weeks back, and I asked him to buy a few balconies separately last week, which he took care of pretty quickly. Great service.
