(Army Painter) A Perry force for The Sudan
« on: February 15, 2015, 05:01:16 AM »
We still have a battle or two to wrap up our Zulu campaign but with that end in site, it was suggested we pick up the new Warlord Sudan supplement, Blood on the Nile.  Before that arrived we decided to have a non historical battle using what we had painted. That was a lot of fun so well... I decided I needed a Sudan force.
My Perry Egyptian and British arrived first week of February:

First up we have 2 Egyptian Rifles, 2 Sudanese Rifles and the esteemed Pasha Hicks and friends.
Painted:  2024: 170; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

Managed to clean & prepare the first units for priming over the last two weeks:

Negative 5 degrees being a bit cold I broke out the airbrush for a bit of priming this weekend:

Now comes the hard part - painting all that white...

I'll be anxious to see this one progress. For some bizarre and unknown reason I've not purchased the plastic ansar.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

I will not match Deedles collection by any means! His thread and the excellently painted forces on your Sudan thread definitely contributed to this project.  Lots of inspiration on this board for almost any period.

I decided to try base coating with the airbrush to give me a start. I am a total amateur with it but seemed to work well.

Real life crushed my free time and with it this project.  Maybe in the fall...
I have more time this summer as I'm taking my vacation but my gaming group has gone nuts and started an Ancients campaign. I will bring my Dacian project back to life.
