Derivan MiNiS paints
« on: 24 September 2008, 08:17:31 AM »
Has anyone here ever used these paints?:

http://www.matisse.com.au/pages/minis.htm

I just read some pretty good reviews of em on TMP and they seem identical to GW or Vallejo, just cheaper

So yeah, has anyone had experience with them?

I am always interested in trying new paints.

Derivan MiNiS have been scientifically formulated for model and miniature painters

I wonder how other manufacturers go about it? Throw some stuff in a pot and hope for the best? :)

I bought a couple, but was actually quite disappointed.  Perhaps I was unlucky.

I bought a blue which was OK the first time I used it, then ever after dried "chalky".  And "Spartan Red" which is a great colour but, frankly, no better than the VMC Carmine I already had.

They are quite thick and need plenty of thinning, but I like that.
