Troupes Coloniale sash color?
« on: 27 March 2015, 06:33:24 PM »
I'm painting up some Artizan Designs FFL for use as French Colonial Troops in African Togoland during WW1 and probably for the Siberian expedition in 1917 and 1918.

A lot of the figures have a sash under their belts, and I know this sash was dark blue for the FFL. Was it the same color for the Troupes Coloniale, or was it red, or...?

Thanks

Steve

In 1914, according to Histoire and Collections book by Andre Joineau

Zouaves - blue
Algerian tirailleurs - red
FFL - blue
Colonial Infantry - no sashes shown
Senegalese tirailleurs - red

Ah well, as some of the figures have the sashes sculpted in, I'll just do the blue and they can double as the Legion. Thanks!
