2 gallons fuel container ? someone produce this stuff in 28mm ???

i have a lot of jerricans ( everybody seem's to produce jerricans in their stowage packs ) , but they are quite useless for early war british or allies ( minus post Bengazi LRDG ) ...

did you have some source ?

They look quite easy to make. Some GS and a grasp from the bitbox. I think you have the skills to do one on your own and cast it

Your OP is about the British 4 gallon "flimsy" and the photo show both the 4 gallon and the 2 gallon IIRC. the "Jerricans" are probably a German type and the "Merican", a copy made by the US as they recognise the good design of the captured US ones. Not sure about the cylindrical style but it may be a 20 litre Oil barrel.

I read years ago that the Flimsies lost more fuel through leakage than they delivered. Any captured fuel containers were put in to service ASAP due to their reliability. I can recall having at least one Jerrican in my car when crossing the Nullabor in case I ran out of fuel before the next "gas" station.

i'm still surprised that, with the huge number of peoples playing early-mid war allies, all the "bits" manufacturers only produce jerricans and not the most used ( even if unreliable ) Flimsies ...

never read anything ...  but it was not in Gallon but in litre 

but the main problem with the british ones seem's to have been poor manufacturing quality in Egypt ... and harsh condition of use in the desert ...
