Do we have any sense what proportion of the Huns (I'm speaking of  the Western Huns not the Ephthalites) were armored and prepared for close combat?

I would imagine the nobles would have had some sort of armours(?)

From what I recall, and Huns aren't really my thing, they used a lot of 'allied' Germanic tribesmen - either actual allies, or levies from conquered enemies. As such, given the general combat preferences of the Germanic tribes of the time, I'd guess that the bulk of close combat troops (both mounted and on foot) would be Germanics rather than Huns? As such, a large percentage of the force could be melee based, and armoured, but not nessecarily 'huns'.
