Rosa Luxemburg Female Battalion by JB
« on: 20 July 2015, 06:21:03 PM »
One customer named Joan Benet has kindly granted me permission to show some captions on the Rosa Luxemburg Battalion he's recently built and painted, to reinforce his 20mm SCW Republican Army. It comprises a Minairons 20GEF011 Militiawomen set, completed with a couple of poses of plastic figures by B.U.M. to fill up ranks.

Group is supported by two 20GEV003 Bilbao armoured cars and one 20GEV024 Ford ambulance, also by Minairons. Please watch the pictures below.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

What a great unit!  :)

That Commandante is a very good likeness of Mika Etchebéhère, but she commanded a company in the POUM's Lenin Battalion.

I'd love these in 28mm, some great poses and mix of kit.

Very well done.

True, that particular sculpt is based on the pictures of Mika Feldman (later Etchebéhère) I could find. Take it as a small-sized monument to that outstanding woman.

And true too, the real character actually lead a column of POUM militiamen - it's up to you whether to give the sculpt that very same use, or to make her lead a militiawomen unit...  ;)

Best wishes,
Lluís

I understood it was a mixed company, hence her asking her milicianos if they expected her to wash their socks, after they complained about being expected to do "women's work" when there were milicianas in the company.

She certainly had carácter.  ;)
