Its a lovely range, may well have to invest..............
Or maybe, see if Paul fancies working with me again, and go for the classic Hollywood Vietnam look, with 60s Americans v VC and NVA, a whole new range, quite fancy scratching some M113s, M-48 and a decent range of usable Hueys and other helos................. ;D

As there are quite a few Vietnam ranges out there already you might want to consider starting with the bits that nobody else does. Early USMC in standard fatigues, flak jackets and M-14 rifles. ARN with M-1 Garands and M-1 carbines.  NVA regulars in pith helmets that actually look like pith helmets.

You might attract a crossover market. The Marines would be useful for all sorts of Cold War scenarios, even Bond style stuff. ARVN, appropriately scaled could be used for half of the Third World's armies. Central and South American as well as other Asian armies like the Koreans, Indonesians, Cambodians Filipinos, etc. Actually some Pathet Lao in Mao caps would be pretty cool too.

By the by if you want Hueys then Hobby Boss make an 1/48 Easy Build UH-1C (usable as a B model) for around $20. Nice kit and one any gamer could put together inside an hour or so.

Yep... there are a host of M16-equipped ranges out there, although very few ARVN. The early VC were almost entirely kitted out with US M1 Carbines, Garands and BARs, obtained via the ARVN and would double as RF/PF. Likewise US Advisers carried the same kit and M3 Grease Guns. US Army and Marines both used the M14 in the first year of the war (Marines later obviously), differing only in that the Marines wore flak jackets constantly.

That being said I would buy anything Vietnam-related by Mr Hicks... early period or otherwise, I'd just prefer to start gaming it from '62 onwards given the choice.

Looks a great range and definitely on my to buy list.

Commenting on suggestions for earlier Nam '65 to '67 figures...perhaps Force of Arms would take up the mantle or maybe we will finally get to hear from recon28 and what was promised/suggested within their line

I'm not sure what's happening with Force of Arms as Wargames Command Post is out of stock of all the Vietnamese with no news on restocks. I'm still after several packs (advancing and firing) that i'm unlikely to get anytime soon.

I would have to weigh in here - there are a lot of Vietnam War ranges out there, but very few quality ones. I've been waiting on USMC with M16s and Flak jackets for a long time.

Force of arms is very hard to get, and the rest of the ranges just don't do it for me....

John popped up here a while ago. Announced some new stuff and then promptly disappeared again. Might be worth PMing him.

Yeah, I might try that. Bob at WGCP doesn't know about restocks yet (great customer service by the way!).

They do  look good and just what the range needed. Hopefully they will make some separate Vietnamese heads. Would be nice to have some variety.

I anyone is reading this can we have at least one pack of the unadorned Vietnamese pith helmet? It would be useful for converting these and other ranges into later VC and NVA.
