Xenozoic Tales
« on: November 04, 2008, 01:24:26 AM »
If anybody needs some pulp inspiration for using old cars, 1940's/50's pulp figures, and dinosaurs, try this set of comics by Mark Schultz:

The series is also referred to as "Cadilacs and Dinosaurs."

GDW offered a Role Playing Game titled Cadillacs and Dinosaurs based on this comic book. You might be able to find it in second hand game sites or hobby shops with lots of dust on the racks. Far Future Enterprises has most of the GDW titles for sale and might be persuaded to reprint it.

This is some great stuff. Find the reprints of Xenozoic Tales if you can. I believe they also did an animated series for it.

There was an animated series of about 13 hours made, I believe, by CBS network in the US.  I would love to see that!

Mark Schultz, who is 52 years old now and lives out in the mountains of Pennsylvania, has been doing other work for more than a decade.  But the news on some of the websites is that he will be working on finishing the Xenozoic Tales, aka Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, comic series over the next year, so as to bring the series to a conclusion.  Personally, I can hardly wait! ;D

There are supposed to be three books out that compiled the Xenozoic Tales comics:

"Cadillacs and Dinosaurs" compiled Xenozoic Tales 1 - 4.

"Dinosaur Shaman" compiled Xenozoic Tales 5 - 8.

"Time in Overdrive" compiled Xenozoic Tales 9 - 12.

So far, I've only seen the first of these, at a bookstore and at a library. I'll be keeping an eye out for the others.

Seems to me this might be a good topic for Bob Murch at Pulp Figures, at least the Jack "Cadillac" Tenrec and Hannah Dundee characters.  Maybe he could come to some agreement with Mark Schultz.  Would be a good topic for Copplestone as well.
