Review: Paintier 80 Carrousel Paint Organizer
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:15:44 AM »
If your workspace is anything like mine, you have a zillion paint pots either scattered all over the place or jammed into a shoebox. Either way when you need a specific paint, it's often an ordeal to track it down. A while back I found a terrific solution to this problem: The Paintier 80 Carrousel .Essentially it's a series of round tiers with slots to hold paint bottles mounted vertically on a "lazy susan" type turntable. You can easily see the labels of every jar and there is no "back corner" for things to disappear into. My whole paint collection is accessible with a flick of the wrist. I can't believe it took me this long to write a review of something I've used almost every day for the last five years, but here we are. Check the link for the review and pics.

Nice review :)

I have a Painter80 too, and it is pretty good :)  I think I use it in a slightly different way, though.  I keep 20 to 30 colours on the shelf of my paint station at any one time, but have all of my reserve pots on a Painter80 in the garage for easy access when needed - both spares and alternate colours.  I've got paint-creep to the point I have two layers of pots on each tier of the Painter80, though, so maybe it is time to look at the cost of a Painter120 again! lol

Mine gave me good service for about five years. When my son started toddling about it was time to move up to something that could be closed and locked. lol My old Painter 80 is still doing duty down the street on FourColorFigs Scott's painting bench though. It really is a time saver having so many paints organized and always in easy reach.

Mine sits on the corner of my painting table, in arms reach.
It holds the colors that I don't regularly use.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!

Thanks a lot, Hammers. Praise is always gratifying, but means even more coming from one of LAF's "top men".

*nudges the other moderators* Did you hear that guys? I'm a 'top man'. ;)

Seriously, my take on the LAF hierarchy is that there is none. There's Alex and there's the rest of us. It all works bec auseAlex does all the heavy lifting and is very sensible about things. The moderators are just there to take care of the 'weeding' and that doesn't cause any blistering on our lily whites.

have 2 of the Paintier 80's though one is now under the painting desk holding excess or spare bottles of paint. The first Paintier 8o sits just behind the new Foundry/Cote d'arms/GW bottle rack from Miniaturicum, the rack holds 120 bottles in their triads.
