Verdun 1916
« on: 14 December 2015, 03:32:22 AM »
Hey guys!

Id like to show off my first batch of miniatures for a divisional scale ruleset im working on. Ive got roughly a regiment of germans and another regiment of french painted up so far. I plan to add more over in the new year! Ive attached some pictures for your viewing pleasure. The French are completely painted but only partly based. I still need to highlight the bases and do some water effects. The Germans are nearly done, the skin and weapons need a wash and ive got to paint the webbing and do the basing.

5 'companies' of German Stormtroopers. Each base repersenting a full company. each regiment would commonly have a single company attached to it, the rest of the bases will be stand ins for other specialized assault troops.

A Battalion of German infantry advancing towards Verdun. The Battalion is just missing the HMG company.

Another battalion and the start of the 3rd battalion. Each battalion is missing the HMG company. Not shown here are the german artillery. The regiment is supported by 6 7.7 cm FK 96 n.A. guns and 3 10.5 cm Feldhaubitze 98/09 guns.

The defenders of Verdun! This force consists of 5 battalions of frenchmen. Each battalion consists of 3 companies and a HMG company. The next additions will be some field artillery and colonial troops.

The French Poilus dig in and await the german attack.

Thanks for looking! Ill try to keep this updated!

These look nice, who is the manufacturer? I like the horizon blue.

Not sure about the French, but the Germans look to be Minifigs.  A very characterful range and quite good to paint.

Hello everyone.

Muzfish4 is spot on, the Germans are Minifigs miniatures. I purchased a large lot on ebay and was quite happy how they painted up. I have some OLD 15mm minifigs Egyptians and the miniatures are brutal but these were a joy to paint. The french on the other hand are WW2 Forged in Battle french. I was actually a dealer for FiB so i re purposed a few blisters that i had laying around.

Over the holidays I'm hoping to get some more models painted up. Ive got 9 German guns that are partly painted, i just need to figure out how i want to paint the guns themselves.
